Palestine solidarity campaigners were out protesting at Elbit Systems in Bristol last week. Elbit Systems is Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer, supplying the Israeli military with armoured drones, bombs and missiles.
The protest was organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), with other groups
represented including Stand Up to Racism, Bristol Socialist Worker Student Society (SWSS)
and Bristol Quakers.
Dr Eldin Fahmy, a University of Bristol academic, told the media that the demonstration was “one of five regional protests across the country against arms companies involved in and facilitating Israel’s genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people”.
Elbit Systems describes itself as the “backbone” of the Israeli drone fleet, supplying parts for drones that have been used in the Zionist genocide in Gaza. The company previously operated another site nearby in Aztec West business park, which closed in September after numerous protests by the now banned Palestine Action campaign.
