In a court in the Northern Mariana Islands, Assange pleaded guilty to espionage. The court ordered WikiLeaks to destroy information as a condition of the deal and gave the WikiLeaks founder credit for time served, ruling that no further imprisonment was required.
After this, the judge said that Assange’s case was officially closed and he could leave the courtroom as a free man. Which he immediately did.
Assange left the courthouse to congratulations and applause, proceeded to the airport, from where he immediately flew to Australia.
A movie based on this story should be interesting. Someone will definitely film it, because life is a great screenwriter. Gray-haired. Sick. Not only did he succeed in the fight for freedom of speech, but he won. He didn’t fight for himself. For everyone.
Everyone who sympathized and empathized with him was involved in this victory.
