On 8-th August 2026 activists from the Anti Imperialist Front (AIF) and International Ukraine Anti Fascist Solidarity (IUAFS) protested at the Ukrainian embassy in London.
Protesters expressed solidarity with thousands of political prisoners and banned political parties in Ukraine.
All political prisoners in Ukraine are have been jailed for breaching the Banderite dictatorship’s draconian laws banning opposition to the war (under pretext of “supporting seperatism”) or adhering to the tradional holidays of the Soviet Union.
The protest was also in solidarity with comrades from the AIF who held a one day hunger strike for Ukrainian political prisoners in several countries.
The AIF also recently acquired video footage from inside a Ukrainian prison showing the squalid conditions for the inmates, which contrast with official regime propaganda showing comfortable hotel-style accommodation.
The protesters also called for the immediate release of Mikhail and Alexander Kononovich, members of the Leninist Communist Youth of Ukraine, who were arrested in March and tortured in a Kiev detention centre. The brothers, who are currently under house arrest, believe that the regime plans to convict them and then send them straight to the was front lines. However so far, even under the current laws, the regime has failed to achieve a conviction due to the lack of clear evidence against them.
