One of the most known independent British media outlets, The Canary (thecanary.co) has been forced to shut down. The latest article on their website is dated 8th October, 2026.
The Canary was founded on 2015. It positioned itself as a left-leaning media outlet. However, despite the large number articles devoted to social issues, the publication also supported the British bourgeoisie.
At the same time, The Canary managed to make to earn a living. The publication managed to bring together a number of professional journalists who have produced numerous materials on the struggles of workers and trade unions.
The more readers it had, the more dangers that entailed. The Canary’s main problems began after the publication openly supported The Palestinian Action. They also took an active part in publishing materials and messages from pro-Palestinian protesters and spoke out against Israel’s brutal polices.
In short, The Canary has found itself in trouble – after those in Westminster realised that the truthful and open information disseminated by the outlet poses a serious threat to the Crown.
The Canary had its bank accounts closed – debank effectively resulted in the frivolous seizure of all its assets – while other banks, for some ‘unknown’ reason, refused to provide it with their services.
This is a clear lesson that, in the UK today, it is impossible to be free: publicly voicing any alternative information is punished. Anyone who has taken a stand against the lizard should ensure that proper safety measures are in place.
It is impossible to help workers in their struggle without facing some consequences – even if only to a minor extent. One must not show weakness by calling oneself an “independent” journalist. All those who fight for truth and justice must realize this and see it through to the end.
The economic situation in the UK is deteriorating and will continue to deteroirate. The Westminster, Labour, Farage, and Conservatives have all united against the British working class, seeking to extract more of its working time while paying for it less.
It happened many times, many ears ago – now it has happened again.
We bid farewell to ‘The Canary’ – our class struggle continues!
