The major media outlet The Canary reported that it has been debanked by Lloyds.

Canary states: `Despite banking with them for almost a decade they are currently withholding a substantial amount of our money. We are left with barely any funds.`
‘Lloyds has not explained why it has taken this action. Despite multiple communications from us, the bank has not been forthcoming with its reasoning.’
‘The Canary is now in a financially precarious situation. We do not know when our money that Lloyds is holding will be returned. Moreover, we do not know how it will affect our ability to get another bank account in the future.’
Later Canary continued: ‘We do know that multiple other politically engaged people have suffered similar actions by other banks in recent times. It is not lost on us that powerful banks are able to restrict the financial activity of anti-Zionist and pro-Palestine organisations and individuals. Whilst we do not currently know the reasons behind our debanking, we cannot afford to be naive about this.’

British old-style Banking
The history of the UK shows that banking services have always been used as a weapon. Old-school Britons know: the most reliable Bank is the one whose owner you can send your solicitors to.
Over the past few centuries, British banks have robbed thousands and reaped billions in profits. For example, the Bank of England de-banked and seized approximately 31 metric tons of Venezuelan gold, valued at around $4,6 billion to $4,8 billion.
During the last year, the accounts of many pro-Palestinian protesters and anti-war activists have been closed and their funds seized, without any explanations from the banks.
So, if you do not know the bank’s manager and owner, do not use its services to avoid falling into a banking trap.
The Canary and its pretention for an independence
The shameful situation regarding the Canary debanking merely demonstrates that, amidst the recent class and anti-war struggles, any attempts to adopt an intermediary position is simply impossible.
The Canary faced a hard choice: either become a nasty news house like the BBC (Biased British Corporation) or take a step forward the truth, finally aware of associated risks.
There is no middle ground in this game. The media can either embark on the path of serving the people by bringing them the truth or sank in a quagmire of lies.
This lesson demonstrates that it is time for Canary to seriously reconsider the debanking and change course, though this is unlikely to happen. The Canary could either quickly degenerate into another ‘junk’ news outlet or achieve success among the revolutionary movement and its struggle for freedom and ability to publish the truth.
Call to Boycott LLoyds and Barclay Banks
We call on everyone to stop using the services of these two ruthless banks, which finance arms manufacturers for Israel’s Zionists and Ukrainian neo-Nazis, and are seizing funds belonging to independent anti-war activists.
