Palestine solidarity campaigners protested outside the Foreign Office in London on Monday as the Madleen, a Freedom Flotilla Coalition yacht, was illegally intercepted by Israeli forces off the coast of Gaza in international waters.
The yacht sailed from Italy on 1st June carrying humanitarian aid intended for civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip. It was intercepted early Monday, approximately 200 kilometres off the coast of Gaza, by Israeli naval forces enforcing the ongoing blockade.
Twelve passengers, including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, were detained in Israel and later deported.
